Jammertal Wine Estate Villány (JWE) made history at one of the most prestigious wine competitions in the world, Concours Mondial de Bruxelles (CMB).
The highest score in the red wine category was awarded to our Koh-I-Noor Merlot 2018 at CMB 2026.
This crowning achievement marks the second time JWE has claimed the competition’s most coveted red distinction, our house having already earned the Red Wine Revelation in 2021 (Cassiopeia Merlot 2015).
No other winery has ever achieved the highest score in an open category in the history of the competition. To our knowledge, no other winery has achieved the highest score officially declared at two different international wine competitions of similar prestige.
Our success was forged by our winemaker Ms. Zsófia KÖVESDI and our vineyard manager Mr. Zsolt NAGY.
Koh-I-Noor Merlot 2018 will be commercially available on August 24 at a gross price of 50,000 HUF / bottle.

Nose with aromas of black fruits (blackberry, blackcurrant) and spices (liquorice, vanilla), enhanced by notes of leather. On the palate, a wine with freshness, as well as remarkable complexity and length. An elegant, accomplished and promising wine.
